My case status finally changed to "New card is being produced". I got 7 text messages from USCIS (all SMS said the same thing): "On April 19, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number EACXXXXXXXXXX......".

I almost can't believe I'm writing this, but we got our approval today (well, yesterday, technically, as it's just past midnight)!!!!! I've been stalking our mail(wo)man all month long... Somehow I had a feeling it would be here today and I could hardly believe my eyes when I actually saw the letter.

 

What a relief to see the word "Congratulations!" written first. I didn't have to eyeball more than the first line of the letter before literally jumping up and down with sheer joy. Anyone else having college acceptance letter flashbacks?

 

Our date of decision was April 13, 2017. The letter was postmarked April 17, which made it to our mailbox April 19.

 

We are going to hold off on naturalization for a bit, but I wish you all luck in the next part of the process! Strange to say it, but I'll miss all of you frequent posters who played a large part in keeping me level headed throughout the past year. Thanks for all the moral support along the way!

My online status finally updated too. My approval letter came last Wednesday and I also got 6 emails from USCIS also all saying the same thing "New Card is being produced".

I wish! I have to wait 3 more years now due to the fact I'm no longer married to the sponsor. Not really overly envious of the additional paperwork but I will be when you guys are all citizens and I'm still sat here like

I thought you would only have to wait 2 more years since you're already about 3 years in. Is there any specific clause relating to your case that says you can't file N-400 after 5 years (4 years 9 months) of being PR?

I think I'm going to wait until I receive my Green Card and then maybe I will apply for Naturalization. I'm just keeping in mind what the weather will be like here by the time I would have to travel in to Boston for the interview and ceremony haha! I would prefer to have no snow during that time.
