My mom paid approx. $250 (we had budgeted $400 cause that's what they told us), she got about 3 shots, again it depends on your vaccination history, as some people in Jamaica paid less and some way more.  Do some fishing around in forums to get feedback from your homeland.

Hi @Dassie! No, not yet... Hopefully once she gets her police clearance, the embassy will be able to process her visa in a week. Good luck to you!

So my mom sputum results came back and everything is ok.  Thanks for the prayers VJers.  Doctor will send results to the embassy this week and crossing finger they will schedule interview for early December.  I'm praying the police record doesn't expire.  They however have the option to waive a renewal.   Good luck to us all!!!

Interview went well, except my mom had to get police clearance from the Japanese Embassy because she worked there years ago. I didn't bother to get this because when filling out the I-130, they only ask for the addresses she lived at for the last 10 years, so I thought it wouldn't matter if she worked in Japan because it's been more than 15 years ago. Now we had to wait 2 more long months to get that darn document taken care of. Unfortunately they don't do expedited processing.  

 

My mom was told she'll get her visa issued once she submit the document.. It's just going to be a looooooong wait. Good luck to everyone!

@Dassie I am also working on ds260. Do we need tax transcript for last 3 years? 

 

Also there is a question regarding vaccination requirement according to US. What do we need to answer for that? Yes or no?

So guys can you share some questions about your mom's interview please? I am planning to request a translator because my mom is not good in english. Her interview will be on the 22nd next month. So nervous!

My mom didn't ask for an interpreter but ended up getting one anyway  The interviewer was nice and didn't really ask too much questions. My mom said he was direct to the point. He did ask for a family picture which of course should include myself as the petitioner. He ask how long have I been here in the US and my bday.. Aside from the issue with the police clearance, it turned out great.

I know right, but I cannot complain because this 2 month wait is the first in my immigration journey I had a hitch, so I would still regard my experience as very good.  Sad to say some cases are much more challenging.  Your mom's wait will go by quickly too.

Hi everyone,

 

I am new here. I submitted my I-130 application for my mom last June 23, 2017. My service center is Nebraska. It's been 5 months but never heard anything yet. I have a question regarding supporting documents, do I need an American passport to support that I am a citizen or naturalization certificate would be enough? I didn't get a US passport but thinking if that's necessary if uscis will ask for the required documents. Anybody who responds would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
