Quoting from the new I- 129F form :

13. What Is the Fee?

The fee for filing this form is $170.00.

When a check is drawn on the account of a person other than yourself, write your name on the face of the check. If the check is not honored, USCIS will charge a fee for the returned check.

Pay by check or money order in the exact amount. Make the check or money order payable to the Department of Homeland Security.

The package was returned today stating that the check should have been made payable to USCIS. Unbelievable... This must be a joke!!!

are you sure you read all the papers they sent back? I got mine sent back as well and I was using old forms. When they sent me everthing back, I was over looking somethings and thought that was all they wanted me to do, was make the check out to uscis. (Which was what I already did.) I read more carefully and saw they marked on a second paper, that I need to fill the current forms. Anyway, check everything again. maybe you over looked what they really want. I hope you figure it out. Good luck.

Good grief! That is ridiculous! I made mine out to homeland security... You think they could follow their own directions

Now since the form says that it should made payable to DHS, how much do you want to bet that when we pay it out to USCIS, they'll return it saying that it should be to DHS again.

I mean if you can't even trust the word from the horse's mouth, then what's the point in even listening??? This looks like something pre-wired to just go around in circles...

Yikes. That sucks. I sent mine to Nebraska, and the check finally cleared and the package is at CSC, now. I made my check out to Department of Homeland Security, and that's what the back of the check is stamped with, too.
