Emergency visa?

My 21 yo cousin died yesterday in a gruesome accident. I am a USC, and I want my fiance to come to the funeral with me. Is there anyway to get an emergency visa?? I see that the embassy does offer visas to those traveling with a close family member for support in these types of sitautions?

Does anyone know anything??

K1 TIMELINE

2/24 Sent I 129f to VSC

3/2 Check cashed

3/6 NOA2

3/27 Packet 3 arrives

6/19 Interview- APPROVED K1 visa

8/3 Fede arrives in JFK, gets work authorization stamp

AOS/EAD/AP TIMELINE

9/24 NVC recieves AOS/AP/EAD package

9/28 Check cashed

10/03 NOA1 for EAD, AP

10/07 NOA1 for AOS

10/07 Biometrics letter

10/22 Biometrics appointment

10/23 Receive ADVANCED PAROLE

10/25 EAD card production ordered

11/02 EAD card mailed

11/05 EAD card recieved

11/16 Case transfered to CSC

12/10 RFE for I-693

1/14 Contact local Representative for help

2/6 Mail RFE letter stating we didn't send in medical per instructions of AOS for K1 because medical was done less than a year ago (We didn't think we would ever hear from our Congressman at this point)

2/13 Response (finally!) from Rep's office saying USCIS does not have the medical report

2/13 Decide to re-do medical :( another $300 spent in the name of sweet love

3/14 Letter of intent to deny with clear explanation of why.... medical didn't have TB skin test!

3/21/08 Green Card printed

4/1 Receive Green Card!

1/05/2010- Working on 751 packet

2/24/10 "Your item was delivered at 11:10 AM on February 24, 2010 in SAINT ALBANS, VT 05479."

3/5/10 Received NOA dated 2/25/10. Check not cashed yet.

3/17/10 I wrote the date on the check as 2009!!! I had to resend entire package with a new check. :(

3/21/2010- 2 year green card expires

4/23/10 Biometrics Appointment

7/12/10 ROC APPROVED!! Card production ordered for a Lawful Permanent Resident card. (We were not interviewed.)

I am really sorry for your loss. Wow...I just don't know the answer. I really don't think the US will consider your cousin's death an emergency for your fiancee'. Getting a Visa in a few days, seems like a long-shout to me. But that is just my opinion. I suggest you contact an immigration attorney for a consult and see what he/she has to say about it. Good luck and again, sorry for your loss.

I can't answer your specific question but it seems that wait time for a visa in Buenos Aires is 24 hours?

It's not clear whether 24 hours is the time needed to get an appointment or to get the visa (assuming it is not delivered at the same time as the appointment). You might wanna ask them directly?

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

2010-01-05: applied for removal of conditions

2010-06-14: 10-year green card in hand

2013-11-19: applied for US citizenship

2014-02-10: became a US citizen

I have a feeling that your Cousins death (in the goverments eye's) won't permit your fiancee to get a emergancy visa... Look into it, see what they do.

October: Waiting

November: Waiting

December: In Security checks

January 2006: Waiting

February: Waiting..Contacted Congress

March 4th: APPROVED

March 17th: NVC posted file to London

March 20th: London Receives file

March 29th: Receive package 3

April 13th: London Receives package

April 19th: Medical - June 13th: INTERVIEW......APPROVED!!!!

June 20th: ARRIVE IN USA

Time taken for whole process 9 Months

The link actually says, looks like 3 or 4 days total.

Basically you do not need an emergency appointment, Consulates that have long waiting times do have a procedure for this sort of situation.

Usual requirements apply for any Visitors Visa.

On the Embassy website they say they issue visas to family members accompanying another for support in emergency (death) situations. I am going to try. I don't want to alone. Its just too ###### horrible.

Note that your fiance is not a family member. That doesn't mean that he shouldn't try for the visa, but it does mean that this approach won't help any.

As your fiance is not your family member, I doubt this approach would help any. I'd just try for the B2.
