Its been over 2 years

My best friend has a fiance that is still in the Philippines. When she went to St Lukes, she tested positive for Tuburculousus. She started on the pills, but later found out that her strain need shots first, then pills. It is almost 2.5 years now, but she should be done with all the shots/pills in March of 2017. I know she needs to go through St Lukes again & my best friend will pay again, but his fiancé is telling him that they won’t grant her leaving unless he goes back to the Philippines to visit again. She said it is because it has been over 2 years since he originally went. Any truth to that?

No it's visiting within 2 years of filing the petition, not of the interview, medical, or visa being potentially granted.

Two years and has not spent any more time together? That might give Consular Officers pause.

Also, don't petitions have a one year validity? If one cannot meet all the requirements within that year, one has to reapply, is how I remember it?

Also, the couple not inquiring here, but you as a friend, kinda makes me wonder about the relationship. Unless they have actively sought more info here or otherwise.

I would say - Consider leaving it to them to work out. Just one opinion.

Thats a tough one as the original petition was approved with the 2 year meeting requirements met; but with the "delay" because of the medical and treatment and it taking so long... I haven't read anything previously about this... the treatment time sounds insane 2.5 years of treatment?! (If i am reading that correctly).

But with him not having gone and seen her in what now, 3+ years?? That doesn't look good. That is a long long time to be apart. He might want to go visit.
