Did you get case status directly or you got your approval letter first and then the case status changed.

I received the approval letter first, the case status did not change for about a week.

Hi Scazy! I'm sorry I don't recall what the enveloped was marked with. However, I did just receive a notification yesterday that my green card has been mailed to me. I'll let you know what type of mail that was sent with since I'm guessing it's the same as the approval letter. :)

Besides, same as your concerns-my case status never changed from "your fees were waived". I'm wondering after bio-metrics was done, they don't even update it in their system?

Yeah it was kind of worrisome not seeing my status update on their website. Mine also just said "Your fees were waived", but thankfully it sounds like from what people were saying on VJ that it's either a glitch in their system or how it works for now. My status on USCIS' site still remained "Your fees were waived" even after I got the approval letter. It was just yesterday when it finally updated to "Card/Document Production" telling me they mailed out my card!

I expect 5 months for them to start our piles too. Only saw a few CSC August filers got approved recently, and USCIS website remains the update as of Sept. 30, 2016. It's been almost 2 months since that date, they should have moved on to open Sept. piles, although they may still make decisions on the rest of August filers.

My thoughts exactly.

Well, it's been nearly one year since we filed...should have known things would be ... slow.

I've been trying to not obsess over immigration this go round - and so far, so good. But I'm a bit rusty on one thing...when exactly can we apply for naturalization? Is it like removing conditions - 90 days before expiry or does it have to be after the 3 yr permanent resident anniversary?

Also, a question for those of you that have been approved - was it with or without interview? I'm assuming without because it seems like most have been surprised when status changed or card magically appeared.

Spoiler

my lawyer called USCIS...she didnt tell me anything i didnt know, California is still working on 3, August cases...i see Vermont are already approved past my date which is 12/12/16...

Regarding naturalization, does it need to be 3 years since marriage or 3 years of living in states? because out of these 3 years most of the time i spent outside of US...

It is three years minus 90 days that you can APPLY from your conditional green card date. You need to have spent 18 months of those 3 years of the date of your conditional card to be able to apply for citizenship through marriage. I should only imagine it will be different if you have a government job abroad or married to someone in the armed forces, but the latter is a guess.
