How long does it take to get a decision after the immigration/marriage interview for F2A?

We had ours a few months ago with an office who said everything looked good, but they couldn't take action on it as our PD was not current back then. This month, our PD became current and I went to the local USCIS office to check if they can make a decision now. Unfortunately, it seems like our documents are not with the local office and it might be up to NBC to make the adjudication.

No one can tell me where the application is and who is now responsible for making the decision. Has anyone encountered this before and how long should I expect to wait at this point?

Any New approvals ?

Dec 8th 2016   PD- Still waiting

485 Still pending and case is with NVC  ....

Are you waiting for an approval or for an interview letter? You are saying different thing each post.

And how can a petition be at NVC when you are adjusting status?? What are you actually waiting for..

When you say priority date to receive an interview.. are you talking about priority date on I-130..

since , i beleive they are looking at I-485 received date (ofcourse when your original i-130  date  has to be current)  and right now they say it could take upto 18 months for a I-485 to process

in that case. i am not sure which i-485 month filers are now receiving an interview letter.. ????

i am AUG 2018 i-485 filer with I-130 priority date of DEC-2016

I looked up your previous posts. If what you say here is right, than what interview letter are you waiting for? Interview letters are send to beneficiaries residing abroad.

In your case you filed for AOS. They gave you a time frame. The only date that matters for you is that of i-485. You pretty much shot yourself in the foot by applying for AOS so late. By what you're saying you have a year to wait for your i-485 to process and they get to you.

Hello Weebee,

i am in an impression that people who are adjusting status within USA  will also receive a Interview letter and have to attend an interview (Correct me if i am wrong)

yes i had to apply 485 late, coz of the complications in my case.. (i'll brief that in my next post,, didn't want to confuse anyone)

anyways,, now that  both the charts are current..  do they prioritize my 485 file or would it still take upto 18 months as usual from the date 485 is filed.. ??

thanks again for the replies

You are right about having to attend an interview. But that comes after your i485 is processed. Did you even do biometrics yet? The fact your PD is current won't speed up the processing. I have no idea how many months you would have to wait. That's entirely up to your local office.

It's too late for a March appointment. You'll be given one in April most likely. Nothing to worry about 😊

Is there a possibility that they would still give us march interview dates?
