choosing the agent Advice please...

HI Everyone,

AS my Petition Got approved i received letter Form NVC TO APPLY FOR THE VISA And Checklist . I am the husband of my USC Spouse and i am living in India . Now as i can see the NVC letter i can see the first step is Choice of the Agent and i want to know can i put my wife's detail in that choice of Agent FORM as i seen the Screen shots of Choice of Agent form i can see the name like i have to put her name and address in that and what is the beneficiary id ? i didn't got any beneficiary id , i just have NVC Case number and invoice Id number which is written on the the letter i recieved from nvc , where i gona get the beneficiary id from now and i was seeing the sample visa DS 260 form and i think i have to put the alien registration number in that too i dont have Alien registration number as well do i need that number to fill up my visa application and someone PLEASE guide ME LIKE now first i have to Fill Choose the agent form now and after that my wife will pay AOS fee and visa fee can i pAY From India or just she have to pay by a US CREDIT OR DEBIT card ? After that I have to APPLY THE ds 260 ONLINE? AND AFTER that? Please Someone Guide me this process to the start from choose and agent to the Case Complete and till the interview.

May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

You can choose any agent you want. I would choose the person who will take charge of dealing with NVC.

you can either choose yourself, your wife, or a lawyer if decide to hire one.

so maybe you can choose yourself if you are going to do all the work.

If you've never lived in the USA before you won't have an alien number so ignore that part. Many of us doing this process don't have an alien number. Remember that the forms are multi-purpose and the same form is used for many different visa classes and situations.

The payments to the NVC must be made from a US bank account. You cannot use a credit card or an overseas bank account.

You do not need the beneficiary ID to fill out the DS-260 and the link given to you above will tell you everything step by step

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:
