I am curious, How many of you have been able to get a tourist visa for your wife while she was waiting for her green card? Of course waiting for about a year for her is going to be extremely tough and I wasnt sure if any sort of visitation to the states before her green card being issued was possible? Thank you! And just wanted to let you guys know that today was the day of our wedding. Most amazing and emotional day of my life.

Awe!

With a USC spouse getting a tourist visa is next to impossible and the chances go down to pretty much nil once you file the i-130. There's obvious immigrant intent. Im sorry.

Just wedding photos generally are not enough. You should add evidence of having spent time together, regular communication, or of living together if possible.

Not necessarily true. For our IR1 only photos we submitted were of wedding and receptions and copy of wedding invitation. Did include bio page of her passport with her married name. Did not include any form of communication. However, did include medical and dental insurance papers, POD on bank account, TOD on vehicle, and copy of loan agreement for motorcycle with both our names.

Ir1 is different, youve been married over 2 years and have financial additions. Most cr1 are filing right after marriage and have zero financial items. My advice was specific for the OP. Every case is individual.

I will use a photocopy of the marriage cert and wedding photos as evidence for the bonified marriage. I should be okay with that. Everything else about the forms and whatnot seem very straight forward so far.

I suggest you file for NSO copy of the marriage certificate in case your case will be forwarded to Nebraska. We received an RFE for that since when I checked with my friend if local registrar issue is fine when they filed for her petition, she said yes they only submitted a copy of the ones issued by the local registrar. Their case was forwarded to Vermont anyway.

You will need this too in the future during the NVC or Interview stage.

Right now she is waiting to receive our marriage certificate from her NSO. So once she gets that (hopefully within a couple of weeks) she is going to send it to me so I can get this whole thing started. Also does anyone know if I have to wait for my wife to arrive to try to get her daughter here as a citizen?

Her daughter would arrive as an LPR just like your wife. I suggest filing for them at the same time so they can interview and travel together. There is zero reason that your step-daughter needs to wait.

Okay good. I wasnt sure if my wife needed to be a citizen first. I am going to have to look up what I need to file into first.

Okay so I got the photocopy of my marriage certificate today in the mail. I am going to send that in as well as copies of a couple airplane ticket stubs, photos of our skype call history and a couple photos of us at our wedding. I think that should suffice as proof of a bonified marriage. Is there a preferred place to send the i130 and both of our g325a's? And what do I have to do to get her daughter here as well?

The only "proof" that you or anyone else submits of marriage is the copy of the marriage certificate; everything else is just "evidence" to support your case.

The I-130 instructions state where the forms and accompanying items are to be sent: https://www.uscis.gov/i-130

If you and your wife married before her daughter turned 18, then you will need to file an I-130 for (your step-daughter) as well.

You basically have double up on the paperwork. Everything you fill for your wife you will most of the time have to do one for the daughter too.

Best of luck on your journey.

I have a quick question.. At the bottom of the G-325A form do I check off "Status as Permanent Resident" or "Other" and write in "in support of spouses I-130. I checked off the status as permanent resident and realized I may have made a mistake.
