Hey guys,

So I entered via the Toronto Pearson POE and have been admitted on my K-1 until Jan 11 2017 as per the stamp in my passport and I'm currently near Atlanta all moved into my fiance's place, however I don't have an I-94. I tried searching the electronic records to get a copy of it, however it states that there's no user found. In fact, if I try to do a record search of the last 5 years, it also says no record found for my name and passport number, yet I've visited over a dozen times at the very least within the last 5 years, always flying to the exact same location to visit my fiance.

What can I do? My passport with the visa and the stamp is literally my only physical proof that I'm residing and entered the US legally on October 14th and I was planning on going to the Social Security office to apply for an SSN.

Is this also going to cause an issue for marriage?

EDIT: Disregard, I'm an idiot. It was also expecting middle name in the "Given Names" field. Found it.

Helo,

Just a quick question- you said via Toronto Pearson POE?

Yes the point of entry was in the Toronto Airport in Ontario, Canada.

I'm going to try to go through Toronto for my POE. Do you recommend it? How long did it take?

My full review of the Toronto Pearson POE is in my timeline, check it out.

That sounds brutal! How long was your layover in total? I was thinking of getting a 4 hour layover. Do you think that is enough?

That'll be more than plenty! Honestly the reason I missed my flight is almost entirely my own fault, and I only really had 45 minutes for a layover which was originally 1 hour 25 minutes but sadly my incoming flight landed late which cut that down a bit.

Ah perfect! This made me worry a lot less now. I was on the fence about flying to Montreal and busing it to Boston the next day lol.

so you mean you can enter the US via Toronto as POE? I'm confused

At all (most?) international airports in Canada, US Customs and Immigration is located within the airports. This is kinda handy as you won't be required to go through it again when you land in the U.S. as you've already been pre-cleared to enter the U.S.

At this point, already consider yourself inside the U.S., even though you're technically physically in Canada still. When you land at your U.S. destination, you can just grab your bags and leave the airport without having to speak with customs. I believe Canada is the only country this happens with? All others would deal with customs when you land.

Gee thanks a lot for the info, I never knew that. My flight will be Manila-Vancouver-JFK New York. That means I get an I-94 as early as Vancouver? That is great!

Yep! Keep in mind that you'll be doing a customs double-whammy when you land. You'll be going through Canadian customs first immediately upon landing, and then U.S. customs right before boarding. Do note that you'll be pulled into secondary for U.S. customs so budget your time accordingly.

Thanks a lot for the heads-up! :)

What do you mean by "pulled into secondary fro US Customs"?

You often cant stand in the regular customs (cbp) line to immigrate. They need more time to process you so you go to secondary questioning. But its not because youre in trouble.

^ you'll go sit in a separate area, and they will call you up to verify a few things and send you on your way :) The amount of time needed can really vary depending on how many people are in there ahead of you, so I'd plan on having 1.5 or 2 hours available between your flights.
