CR-1 Spousal Visa - Applying for U.S. Citizenship

So my husband is here in the U.S. on a CR-1 Spousal Visa & is going on his two year anniversary living here as a permanent resident. We will be applying to remove his conditional residency status sometime in February before his 90 days.

I have read mixed things about when he can apply to become a U.S. Citizen. Is it 3 years or 5 years? And is it from the date of his port of entry in the States or from the date his conditional status gets lifted and becomes permanent? It isn't very clear on the USCIS website as it is not case specific but rather more for general information.

It is both. Actually I found the info for the N-400 forms at uscis.gov/forms to be quite clear about the criteria fopr the two and when you can apply.

Yes, but nowhere on their website do they state if that 3 years is after his conditions are lifted or if it's just from when he first received his 2 year green card. Unless I really am just missing it.

even if you have a 2 year GC you are a legal permanent resident

so it's from the day you became a legal permanent resident, and the date is on your GC, from that day you start counting

I tried to get through ROC and Naturalization in as short a time as possible lol, so you can check out my timeline that may help...

Like everyone else says, It is 3 yrs from the entry date on the GC. Good luck!
