Hi everyone,

Me and my wife recently got married and are planning to apply for the i130 petition.

Just wanted to confirm all the documents required. Please provide information regarding the documents. Would really appreciate it.

Especially the marriage documents: Nikahnama, English translation, Marriage certificate (issued by Union Council)?

And do they need to be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (and Notary Public)?

Do I need to send the originals or certified copies?

Please do let us know. Would highly appreciate the help.

God bless

Yes provide all of these

And do they need to be attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (and Notary Public)?

We had our docs attested by MoFA, I do not however believe this was necessary, but it definitely did not hurt

Do I need to send the originals or certified copies?

neither, regular photocopies are ok, you will provide the originals when you get to the interview

Please do let us know. Would highly appreciate the help.

God bless

Thank you Janab.

Seems like its a good idea to get them attested from MoFA. And attestation from Notary Public seems irrelevant right?

I don't think my DoB certificate is necessary, right? (For the i-130) And also I`ve seen this DoB document issued by the Union Council, is that necessary too?

I have one more question regarding G325a:

My father's full name has four names (as is on his passport), but in the form it only asks for "FIRST name" and "Family name".

How do I put down his name? Just the first name and last name or is it necessary to put down his whole name, in which case how do I enter his name?

Thank you

Thank you Janab.

Seems like its a good idea to get them attested from MoFA. If it is not a lot of trouble, then yes I would do this

And attestation from Notary Public seems irrelevant right? You do not need a notary at all for this process

I don't think my DoB certificate is necessary, right? (For the i-130) And also I`ve seen this DoB document issued by the Union Council, is that necessary too? I do not know anything about a union council DoB doc, we provided a copy of my husbands BC with the I130, but it is not necessary to provide a copy of the BC until you reach the NVC

I have one more question regarding G325a:

My father's full name has four names (as is on his passport), but in the form it only asks for "FIRST name" and "Family name".

How do I put down his name? Just the first name and last name or is it necessary to put down his whole name, in which case how do I enter his name? Fill out the form using the way his name is listed in his passport for example if his passport lists last name as SMITH and first name as JOHN JOE JACOB then enter the name that way on the G325a

Thank you

Hey thank you so much for the information.

Just wanted to ask. As part of the i130 petition, there was a requirement for "evidence of bonafide marriage".

Would the English translation of nikahnama and marriage registration of nadra/uc suffice for that or is there anything else ?

No, that is not sufficient, include ticket stubs from trips to see each other/passport stamps/ect anything that will prove time spent together.

If you happen to have any shared property or bank account include statements from those

If you have any shared bills include receipts from those

And lastly include evidence of an ongoing relationship ie chats that you two have (a selection of whatsapp chats spanning your relationship or FB chats spanning your relationship)

Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, my wife had already mailed the petition. I guess we will receive a RFE to include all that later on?

We just received NOA1 through email. and our service center is the Texas Service Center. Any idea how long they take on average for NOA2?

Thanks again

The way its looking right now is that the Nebraska service center is taking anywhere from 5 to 7 months to process the i-130s. IDK if that time will increase or decrease as time goes on and the US president imposes or introduces different immigration policies.

Your best bet is to followhttp://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=3&option=2&sortby=2 and hope that people keep on updating their timelines properly.

You can also keep on looking at the USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do and check the processing dates for the Texas service center.

Also maybe follow the progress of people on the texas service center thread under http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/134-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

Hi Samba87, Hope you are doing well. Did you get an RFE for submission of WhatsApp/Facebook chat between you and your wife? Is it necessary to submit it?

I am in the process of submission of I-130 for my wife (Pakistani). Can you please let me know the document checklist?

The original poster hasn't logged on since August of last year, so if you don't hear directly, perhaps someone else can respond. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
