Expiring passport

My documents were received by the NVC on 14th September and I am currently waiting for my interview date at the Embassy in London. The passport requirement for London is that you have 8 months left until the expiry date. For me that means I have to have my interview before 8th November (as my passport expires 8th July 2017). Can I renew my passport and still progress with the application? This will mean my new passport number doesn't match up with my the passport numbers I have provided so far for my application.

Yes, you can and should renew your passport. Much easier to do while in your country, than when in the US.

Definitely renew the passport, Remember when you get your new one with the new number they will give you back your old one as well. So make sure you take both with you to your interview so it can be updated if you can't do it through USCIS in time.

Renew your passport you are going to want you visa in a passport that won't expire soon anyway. Take both old and new passport to interview. Less stressful also I'm sure to renew it while still in home country than when in the US
