medical next month

Sometimes you have to read between the lines and check their timeline and profile before answering. Some of us have done the same thing.

Which of course I didn't do I was browsing from the home page when I seen the topic medical next month and for my husband medical he needed his id I was only trying to be helpful in helping the op I didn't mean to start a whole debate. Now I feel like I need to research the op before I even say anything. Thank you for your kind words

my case got completed last week. I don't have an ID. Is it ok to do medical next month?

Speaking from my husband's experience, he did not need the NVC interview letter to get his medical done. My husband called SLEC and they told him it is ok to get the medical done without the interview letter; what is needed is your case number and visa category. When my husband went to SLEC, he already had an interview scheduled but he did not have the interview letter because NVC had not sent it yet. He got in and had all the examinations done with no problems.

sorry for the confusion. ID in my post doesn't refer to an Identification. ID in my post refers to Interview Date.

so I can just bring my passport and NVC number? The reason why I want to have medicals next month even if I don't have an interview date is because I am afraid that I will be delayed if they found something on my xrays.

PS. I don't have any PTB or pneumonia ever but I am afraid that when the time comes I will have a cough and colds due to the whether.

Bring your pre-registration form, passport, passport pictures, NVC number, and DS-260 receipt (just in case). As you can see on my signature, my husband had his medical this past August. He was never diagnosed with PTB either but they somehow found scarring in his lungs on his xray, so he was delayed. If you have any reason to doubt that you will pass the medical, it's better to get it done early, as long as you plan on leaving for the US soon after you get your visa, as the validity of the medical is only 6mon.

My husband will reach his 8th week of sputum culture this Wednesday; we plan on emailing SLEC on Friday so hopefully they'll have his results by then. I have already rescheduled my husband's interview for Oct.24

Mild cold is nothing to SLEC. They are looking for TB and other communicable diseases of which a cold is not on their list.

Here is the list that will deny anyone from entering the USA.

Communicable diseases of public health significance include—

•Tuberculosis

•Syphilis

•Chancroid

•Gonorrhea

•Granuloma Inguinale

•Lymphogranuloma Venereum

•Hansen's Disease (Leprosy)

Note. HIV is no longer used to disqualify someone who is applying for a visa.

As Greenbaum stated, no worries about a minor cough or cold. One benefit to knowing your interview date before scheduling the medical is being able to have the dates close in proximity. The timelines for your visa is tied to the medical date, not the interview date (unless things have changed). I personally would not want them to be too far apart. I know you said that you don't have (that's a very good thing!), but IF something showed up, then your interview would be postponed until the medical situation was resolved.
