How long is Child K-2 Visa Valid for?

I have asked this question before and the answer that came up is 6 months.

However, I just happened to read this which seems to say that the K2 is valid for up to one year from the date of the K1 issueance:

Separate petitions are not required if the children accompany or follow to join you within one year from the date of issuance of your K-1 visa.

The K2 visa is valid for up to six months from the child's medical exam. The child may seek the visa within one year from the issuance of the parents K1 visa.

I don't understand what you are saying. We will go shortly to do the medical, and then the interview. So if she does not finish school for 7 months, does this mean she needs to get another medical and do another interview?

You should delay the medicals and the interviews.

The child and parent does not need to interview at the same time. If the parent wishes to leave asap and the child cannot - the child's medical and interview can be delayed. But, no longer than a year after the K1 is issued.
