Divorced Before Citizenship

Basic backstory is this: moved to the US in 2007 on a K-1 Visa, married within the allotted time, acquired work permit, SSN, etc...and received my 10yr permanent resident card in 2009. Separated in late 2012, and divorced in late 2014. Because I didn't know if I'd be staying in the US (we were trying to work things out while living separately), we never applied for citizenship.

According to the USCIS "flow chart" of eligibility, because I'm no longer married to a US citizen, I'm illegible to apply for citizenship. Has anyone been down this road before? Can I still get citizenship, despite all this or am I just screwed until/unless I remarry a US citizen?

You can file for US citizenship based on 5 years rule (Permanent resident for at least 5 years).

You are good to go :)

You can apply for citizenship after 5 years of residency. Has anyone been down this road before? Can I still get citizenship, despite all this or am I just screwed until/unless I remarry a US citizen?

05/21/16 - Received 2nd NOA (dated 05/16/16) confirming my DOB and address - Day 11

05/22/06 - Biometrics scheduled (online update) and appt letter was mailed on 05/20/16 - Day 12

05/24/06 - Biometrics letter became viewable online (appt scheduled for 06/07/16) - Day 14

05/27/16 - Received Biometrics letter in mail - Day 17

05/31/16 - Was denied walk-in fingerprints with just 1 person left in line. Milwaukee office, boo! - Day 21

06/07/16 - Biometrics completed in Milwaukee, WI - Day 28

12/21/16 - Passed Citizenship test/Interview was successful! - Day 197

01/26/17 - I am a US citizen!!! - Day 233

This is absolutely not what the flow chart says. You can apply for citizenship after 5 years of residency.

If you're under immense pressure from your boss due to an impending site launch at 6am tomorrow morning, it does <_< . I went over it again, and noticed the wee little box under "three to five years" that said "See Attachment A on Page 3", this time. Stress is a b*tch.
