Does the primary proof you provide have to be spanned across the 2 years?

We lived together for a long time abroad and then moved back to our respective countries and are now going through this process of the K-1. I have recently visited him, and there is a lot of proof that I can show for it, but do I need to make sure that we have evidence of meeting each other from the beginning until now?

Your evidence must show that you have been in the same time and space within the past 2 years before filing.

For example: if you are going to say that "I met <insert name of your fiance> on July 2015 in <insert place where you met>. I visited twice more after that, on December 2015 and March 2016>

You should then submit proof of the first visit as a priority and evidence of the others as additional proof.

No, but you should be able to prove an ongoing relationship such as snail mail, chat logs, emails.

Is there a section in which I can describe the nature of our meeting and so forth? The cover letter is what I thought I could do that in, but the samples I have seen on here are much more informational, like a table of contents.

I did a short summary of how we met along with timeframes of dates we were physically together.
