Thank God I revisited this thread. I just realized I have the same problem others have. My permanent GC indicates I have been a resident since March 5, 2018, my ROC approval date, instead of September 16, 2014!

What should I do now? This is stressing me out because I plan to travel again this May or June and I'm afraid of using this new but incorrect green card.

Check my timeline for K-1 visa & AOS details

Conditional Permanent Resident: 16 September 2014

Conditional GC Expires: 16 September 2016

ROC Journey (CA Service Center)

2016-Sep-14: I-751 form, check, supporting docs sent USPS Priority Express

2016-Sep-15: ROC application received & signed for by Lakelieh

2016-Sep-15: NOA receipt date

2016-Sep-19: $590 check cashed by USCIS

2016-Sep-20: NOA/ 1-year extension letter received in mail

2018-Feb-26: ROC case transferred to local office

2018-Mar-06: ROC approved via USCIS website (WAC status check)

I have no clue if it's ok to travel with it. I'd imagine it is? I think the only problem would be for people applying for citizenship, but I honestly have no clue what consequences this may or may not have. If you file the I-90 online, you don't have to send the card back, though I don't know if they request it back at a later date. I did that and submitted a service request. It seems like they have done this to a lot of cards that got produced recently. Maybe only to the batch that got mailed out on April 3rd, but who knows. It's very frustrating to wait this long only to receive something that could possibly be useless, then to find out their timeframe for fixing it is a year. Like... c'mon, USCIS. This is so stupid.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I personally am not going to use mine. I don't want any complications later down the line with Citizenship. It's a pain for sure, as I wanted to renew my DL for 10 years, and my stamp will be up for renewal in a couple of months too... But from what I've read, it's not worth it to knowingly use it with an error.

Iwent to the DHS site and clicked on my case and submitted an SR for a 'typographical error'. It says I will hear something back by April 28th. Hopefully they get a new one out asap.

I would file an I-90 (do it online) too, just in case the SR results in them telling you to do that. Worst case scenario, the SR is enough to get a corrected card out and then you can just withdraw the I-90. Plenty of time since the SR has to be answered by the end of the month and the I-90 takes a year.

Woke up to an email this morning from the newer website telling me USCIS have taken action in my case. Not sure if it's coincidental that processing time has hit my priority date today. With the green card issue that has arisen, I think I'll be happier to just wait for n-400 interview and skip green cards altogether.

Just received my green card in mail today.

i was approved only on 04/02/2018.

and I have the resident since date as the 2018 date.

What’s the next thing I should be doing to correct this mistake?

Please see previous posts - I submitted a Typographical Error through my DHS account, and received notification that I will get a response by 04/28/18. Another person went ahead and submitted an I-90 form online for a replacement card. I made the decision to hold off on that, although the response I receive at the end of April may just tell me to submit an I-90 anyway. I don't know - I've heard that the processing time for I-90 is 12 months - So I am anxious as I think we could be without a GC for another year - I don't know this for sure, just what I've read. It's less than ideal - I'm really annoyed. Mainly for having to renew my DL every six months, and get six month stamps at a time from my local office which is 90 minutes away, and carry my passport with me - It's a pain.

11/06/2012 - First met online

05/28/2013 - First met physically

10/15/2013 - Proposed

01/25/2014 - I-129F application lodged

*NO RFE! Thanks VJ* good.gif

05/27/2014 - Interview - Approved

06/18/2014 - Visa in hand

06/24/2014 - Arrived in the United States on the K1 visa!

07/01/2014 - Got married! (L)

08/06/2014 - Mailed AOS application

09/10/2014 - Biometrics appt

11/21/2014 - EAD and AP combo card in hand

12/16/2014 - Interview attended and application approved!

12/26/2014 - Green card in hand

09/27/2016 - Mailed ROC application

09/29/2016 - ROC application received by USCIS

10/03/2016 - NOA in hand! :)

11/07/2016 - Biometrics completed

03/15/2018 - ROC Approved! *No RFE or Interview! Thanks VJ*

04/06/2018 - 10 year GC in hand (With incorrect 'Resident Since' date - Filed SR online 'Typographical Error' with USCIS)

04/19/2018 - Email received from USCIS instructing me to return my GC for expedited correction - Mailed out today

Thank you VJ and all of the active posters... You guys have helped, and continue to help us so much!

Sorry for all who are going through this. Thankfully mine has the correct date ,and was approved in feb 2018. My online status however still shows case received. whats going on this uscis, seriously annoying. I am planning a trip in june , i have approval letter and my new 10 year card , hope this

unchanged online status wont create any problems for me.  i just have 2 hr 45 minutes layover between flights after entering us on my return. Good luck to everyone who is dealing with this wrong date. Atleast you are approved , soon this will be fixed too.

my greencard has the 2018 date too. I thought that was weird at first but then i thought that at the time i apply for citizenship, they'll have all the information in my file. If not i can show them my old greencard and all the letters. Patiently waiting for those who already requested for the correction.

I think you're right, it will be in a computer and we have our letters and card scans as they probably do too.

Even an N-400 filers thread I joined this week on their info track thing for each poster says, "enter the resident number 'since' which is listed on your FIRST green card".

Has any lawyer found fault with this problem?
