I am going to go to the SS office and the DMV early next week to change my last name to my husband's last name. We filed for his AOS, EAD/AP in late June. Will there be any issues with me changing my last name while his applications are pending? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

wait until you have your EAD card or atleast that process completed.

I learned if you are not a USC you can't just change your name at SSA.. Research this

I AM a U.S. citizen. My husband came here with a k1 visa in March. We got married shortly after, but I am just now getting around to changing my name.

Oh ok..sorry..I should re-read the title..duh!

So you need your birth certificate, marriage certificate and you should be good.

It shouldnt affect the process. it will definitely be an issue if the immigrant was changing name.

good luck!
