Purple Hearts are awarded to service members who suffer wounds in combat

Ashburn, Virginia (CNN)A military veteran supporting Donald Trump gifted the Republican nominee his Purple Heart Tuesday, prompting Trump to say he "always wanted to get the Purple Heart" and this was "much easier" than serving in combat.

Purple Hearts are awarded to service members who suffer wounds in combat.

I just read about this on CNN. Talk about crazy...

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

If someone offers to give you their purple heart, the only acceptable response is "Thank you, but you need to keep it. You earned it, not me." There is no way the words, "Thanks, I always wanted one", should leave your mouth.

I so hate this man.

Was just talking about you yesterday. And your response is right on the money. I just wish others who claim the title conservative would follow your example.

You were talking about me? Did you threaten to cut me? :content:

I think there are more than a few Republicans/conservatives who will vote Clinton. It's just hurts to have to say it out loud.

Yep, check the media thread. And I wasn't talking about cutting you, just yet...

I'm telling you man, the GOP is really stuck between a rock and a hard place. If Trump loses, the GOP won't even see the White House for God knows how long, if he wins, they're going to have to work with the guy they've been trying to sandbag all this time, and no one knows petty like Trump.

hmm.. the military veteran who gifted Trump the purple heart must dumb and lowly-educated.

They come in all shapes and sizes. Unless you're saying that serving automatically means you're educated.

Had a buddy back in the day that couldn't pass the entrance exam for the Marines. After he failed it twice the recruiter let one of our other friends take the test for him.

ASVAB.

It's what they use to determine what your occupation will be once you enlist. It's geared to judge your aptitude in certain areas.

You should see it from my perspective.

I am seriously anti-Clinton. I remember recording the Bill Clinton hearing ( I think it was the impeachment, but it's so long ago I don't remember) I had a shelf full of the VHS tapes.

And I was so ready for this election. It was obvious the Democrats were going to lose. We knew for years they were going to nominate Hillary. Nobody likes Hillary, there's no way we could lose.

And we nominated Trump. Seriously?

It's like we don't even want to win.

Yes, amongst other things. There is the ASVAB and the AFQT. I'm not sure if both exams are required, but at least one of them is to qualify for the armed forces.
