EAD = Employment authorization document or work permit is required to work in the US legally. A person with an immigrant visa will become a permanent resident (green card holder) when he/she enters the US, and doesn't need a work permit because that person is already authorized to work and live permanently in the US.

use stamp on visa to work until the green card arrives in the mail

make sure the $165 fee for the green card is paid / helpful to do this before you leave your country

US citizen can pay online after your visa is approved

No its not a stamp on visa to work. CR1/IR1 do not need EAD. They have a green card upon entry because when the visa is endorsed it becomes a temporary green card valid for 1 year. Edited by NLR
