What is Packet 3 and what will I be sending back to the embassy? I was under impression we weren't sending anything back and taking it all to the interview so I am confused. Thanks for the help! :) :)

I have sent back the packet 3 with D160 Confirmation page, signed form and my receipt.

I did not include the "checklist" cos I was thinking I will be using it as my guide.

Do I need to send it back with the Packet3? or is it ok if I will just bring it on my interview date?

HELP

Hey did you got your NVC number already?

For what I've read in the Juarez consulate information sheet, you don't have to send anything back, just take the documents they ask for to the interview.

Here's the link: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf

Please let me know if you can schedule the interview once you get your nvc case number.

Did you fill out your DS160 already? Apparently you dont need the NVC number, they just ask for USCIS number. After this you can Schedule your interview with the NVC number and DS160 number

Please let me know your progress so I can follow your steps!

Good luck

No need to send anything back from "packet 3". Packet 3 is just a one page document, which is the "appointment letter" that you receive from the Juarez consulate giving you the links to the sites to schedule the appointments and references the document linked above by jeessgb.

Just make sure you have everything listed in that document of what to take to the interview. Also, don't forget the supporting backup for the I-134 Affidavit of Support.

You can get a head start on completing the DS-160 since it doesn't ask for the NVC case number but rather the USCIS receipt number. The AIS account does ask for the NVC case number so you'll want to wait for that before you create the account. The AIS site is where it will link your DS-160 confirmation number to your case number and allow you to pay the Visa fee and schedule your biometrics & interview.

Good luck!

One more question: do I need necessarily the federal police certificate or I can show a state police certificate?

My fiancée just took the state one she got at her local office in Hermosillo... and she was never even asked for it lol! :) She even volunteered it when they asked her for other stuff but the officer just said "no, don't need it".

Thank you, Maria. Is this where we fill out the DS-160? The link in that pdf didn't work. https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx

Then after that and when I have case number I can take it along with the DS-160 number and schedule biometrics and interview here? https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv/users/sign_in . I already have an account but yes, first thing it asks is for DS # and case #.

Hope I got that right... let me know if not. Do you remember how close available interviews were when you first looked? 2 weeks out? 3 weeks?

Thank you so much for all the help!!

Yes, you got it, those are the correct sites. When I first booked appts were available as soon as 2 weeks out. A friend here just booked their appt yesterday and they booked for July 6th so currently it doesn't look like they're booked up at all.

And sorry ladies.. i personally prefer ojos tapatios de jalisco! ;):dancing:

LOL! I never dated anyone from Jalisco but I don't doubt they're beautiful as well! ;)

Good luck everyone!

So, this link (https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf), is it the equivalent of the "appointment letter" or is that a print out after scheduling online?

It's part of the "appointment/invitation letter" because the letter points to that link for additional information. You still do need the actual invitation letter.
