Hey all!

My sister and her husband are currently adjusting his status from an F-1 that transferred to OTP. They have looked over all the evidence my husband and I sent in for our K-1 and would like to add several letters of support from family members to bulk up their evidence when they file for AOS.

I know for the K-1 the VJ guides say to include a line like, "I know this couple will adhere to the requirements of the K-1 visa and marry within the 90 day limit"; so I was wondering if there are any important facts I should include in my support letter for them as they file their AOS paperwork. I know there are obvious things I will say, like facts about how long I've known my sister's husband, our relationship, and my knowledge of their character, but I was wondering if anyone else has any additional advice to offer. Hi! I'm adjusting from F-1. Our friends just wrote some facts about our relationship in chronological order: when they found out we were a couple, how they interacted with us, how we celebrated the wedding etc, that they believe our marriage is bona fide, we're a happy couple etc etc.

05/31/2016 - biometrics appointment

08/04/2016 - EAD in hand

02/08/2017 - Interview - Case held for review - Later same day status update "Card is being produced"

02/16/2017 - GC in hand!

ROC

11/15/2018 - packet signed for

12/17/2018 - biometrics appt

02/01/2019 - I551 stamp (no NOA1 received)

12/17/2019 - approved

 

N400

12/27/2019 - filed online

1/22/2020 - biometrics

4/1/2021 - interview

4/30/2021 - oath

My friend just described how she was watching our relationship grow and how we're a happy couple; she also mentioned that she was one of the bride's maids at the wedding.

11/24/2015 - Mailed I-130, I-485, and I-765
11/26/2015 - Delivered

11/27/2015 - AOS Package accepted and routed to National Benefits Center
12/03/2015 - eNotices received

12/04/2015 - checks cashed

12/07/2015 - got NOAs in the mail

12/18/2015 - got biometrics appointment in the mail

12/29/2015 - biometrics done

02/09/2016 - EAD approved

02/17/2016 - got EAD in the mail

05/31/2016 - got a text and an email notification that the interview was scheduled for June 30.

06/30/2016 - interview; green card approved; case status moved to "new card is being produced"

07/07/2016 - got the green card in the mail

 

03/31/2018 - mailed I-751 to California Service Center

04/02/2018 - package delivered

04/09/2018 - check cashed and got NOA in the mail

05/11/2018 - got a letter saying that USCIS is going to use my old biometrics

08/16/2018 - got 18 month extension letter

03/04/2019 - case transferred to Nebraska Service Center

04/29/2019 - new card being produced notification

05/04/2019 - got 10-year green card in the mail

 

10/02/2019 - submitted N400 online

10/05/2019 - got biometrics notification

10/25/2019 - biometrics done

12/12/2019 - got interview letter in the mail; interview scheduled for January 16

01/16/2020 - interview; application approved

01/29/2020 - got oath ceremony notification 

03/18/2020 - oath ceremony descheduled due to COVID-19 closures

06/11/2020 - oath ceremony! Got my citizenship!

The letter-writer should put whatever s/he knows about the relationship and how s/he came to know it. When you met, how often s/he sees you, etc. It should be first-hand information from the letter-writer.

Don't want to jinx it. Either way, if you haven't gotten and RFIE or RFE yet - I don't think you have anything to worry about. And after "ready to be scheduled for interview" it can be months and months of waiting for an actual interview, as it depends on the backlog at the local office. And NYC definitely got that. So I don't expect an actual interview to happen until December, if we get lucky.
