Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

It's a good sign. It means they're just doing the final checks on your visa and will issue it soon. Mine went into Administrative processing and changed to issued the next day.

Has it changed to a non immigrant visa?

Don't worry about it, if your packets in good shape and your partner is confident, they will do fine. The nervousness is normal, best of luck!

OMG I never even thought about the interview process at immigration at PoE!! I am not due to fly out til Jan 14...but I havent booked yet and I think my fiancee's ticket (which is already booked before we got the visa) has a very short layover. Like 2.5 hours. Should we change this?

I think it depends what POE you're using.

I'm entering JFK in New York which is notoriously busy, and my flight doesn't get in until 9.30pm so realistically I won't be out of the airport til gone 11pm so I've booked a hotel that evening and my connecting flight onto Denver the following morning!

2 and a half hours for a connecting flight is probably cutting it a little bit fine as if there is any delay in them processing your K1, your baggage taking a while to come off the airport and your connecting flight being in another terminal etc!
