after interview... Still waiting ... AP?

So, I had posted last week about my husband passing his interview, the embassy taking his passport, and receiving the pink slip to return the following week to get his visa.

The day finally arrived to pick up his visa, only for them to tell him that it wasn't ready yet and that they would call him when it's ready.

I called the embassy and spoke with someone about this, wondering when exactly it would be ready, they brought up some info and told me that it's currently in "administrative processing" .. Telling me that means his case is just being looked at by Washington before they give them the green light to go ahead and print the visa; either that or they need more information.

I asked "ok does this still mean he is approved?" , they replied "he is approved on the post level" ... This person I spoke with seems optimistic saying my husband would probably receive a call within the next few days, but couldn't promise anything.

I'm scared and stress about this, reading the horror stories of people in the black hole that is administrative processing.... From what I have read, 'every visa goes through administrative processing' before it actually gets issued.

It's just frustrating that at the embassy they said he was approved, kept the passport, said to come the next week... Only for THIS. I thought we were done :'(

For men from the MENA's its standard to be put in mandatory security checks. No one can say how long days, weeks or months. Sorry

CEAC status has changed to ISSUED ... So my guess is the visa is ready.

Congratulations. Did your husband get a call saying it's ready to be picked up?

Interview: 5/12/2021 - APPROVED!!! 😃
