Yes ours said if we didn't receive it by February 3 then we should place an inquiry so I did.

Still a little frustrating when most people receive their cards a few days after getting the notice that the card has been mailed.

Russell&Maria any news? did you get your card?

No. We still don't have the card :wacko:Unfortunately our local post office mishandled the card and it was either lost or stolen by a postal employee :( . The tracking number record clearly shows that it was received at our local post office two days after it was sent by USCIS and was supposed to go out for delivery but no delivery attempt was ever made. The problem was that USCIS never sent us a tracking number after the card was sent and the message that they send tells you to only inquire if you have not received the card within 30 days. By the and finally got the tracking number too much time had passed and my wife's card was nowhere to be found.

I called the Post Office to file a report but they said that even though they cards are sent through Priority Mail that they are not insured so they will not compensate us even though they are responsible for losing the card or it being stolen from their facility.

Bottom line is that we had to file an I-90 to have a replacement card sent. The cost to file an I-90 if the card was never returned to USCIS is $540.00 and I had no choice but to pay it. We filed back in the the beginning of March  electronically and they said it could take up to 6 months to receive a replacement. Maria also had to go have another biometrics performed.

So even though she was approved back in December, we are looking at possibly late summer before she has her card in her hand and can finally relax.

I stress to anyone who has been approved, once you get that e-mail or text that says your card has been sent, if the tracking number is not there, call them immediately and get the tracking number so you can follow the progress of your card.  I'm sure ours was an isolated incident but nonetheless it is frustrating when everything has gone right prior to that.

I am sorry to hear that.

Can I suggest you to sign up in My USPS so when the green card will be mailed, you will get an email with the tracking number.

4 days after the interview I got an email from my USPS with the tracking number for a priority mail coming from Korbin (If i remember correctly)...then after 2 days I got an email saying that the mail was undeliverable as addressed :o

my address was correct.....so I went to the post office and I asked to speak to a Manager

the Manager was able to find out who was the mailman and to retrieve my green card before it was going to be sent back.

I understand your frustration, because I was so mad with all the Post office.

Hopefully your wife will get the card soon :)

Yes we are super frustrated with our local post office. I spoke to several people and while they seemed sympathetic they were still unwilling to take responsibility. Yes I did sign up "My USPS" so hopefully things will go right this time. I will also make sure we get the tracking number immediately so we can follow the progress of the card and be on it til it is in her hands. Thanks for the concern.

Hi everyone. So, I just tried to check my case status online and the receipt number I've been using for the last few months is now no longer working! I also tried calling in and entering it via phone, only to be told the same thing - receipt number is not valid. I managed to speak to someone at USCIS, who confirmed that he doesn't show anything either. He recommended that I speak to an immigration officer and I left my number for a callback.

Has this happened to anyone else ???

I've been off of here for a minute. My wife's everything got approved she got her EAD and GC then applied for her social security and got it like a week ago...... She applied for a discover credit card and was approved with 0 credit history. It's been a really busy month for us.... Just looking for all kinds of jobs every kind of place...... I hope everyone gets approved on this forum.... It's been a loong time of uncertainty and sometimes almost hopelessness but she made it through. We made it.... Now onto the journey for a 10 year GC.

Hey guys,

Congrats on getting all your paperwork sorted!! Hope things have been going well for you. I noticed from your timeline that you got the I-551 stamp. We have our interview tomorrow in Durham and I was wondering how you went about asking and getting that stamp after the interview? I have a job starting Monday so I would like to have that stamp to get started.

Thanks

Mu Interview  appointment was  today at 7:30am , 26 federal plaza NY

I got to federal plaza at 6am on the dot . Federal plaza was empty at the time.  My wife and I decided to walk around till 7am.. bad idea . Lol. By the time we got back the line was ridiclously long  but it was moving . We got inside the building after a fast pace  security check ,went to the 4th floor then redirect to the 8th floor where our interview took place.. We met 5 couples waiting but we were called first .

My IO was an american oriental... she walked us to her office and told us to raise our right hands up.  Nothing but the truth blah blah .

She direct most questions to my u.s citizen wife ..where , when ,first date e.t.c questions ..our child dob, my dob, my place of birth e.t.c.

She questioned my wife for about 10 to 15 mins..  My wife speaks well in general so it was entertaing to her .  The whole interview became a convo and laughter .   Then she's asked me my wife's dob.. my  previous marriage divoce decree and[what happened?) lol.  I said we were young and naive .. she said she understood. She asked of we had any bonified documents..

Then she asked me the yes or no questions.

Then she said she will go over our case and seek for approval.. as soon as we stepped out her office . . My i485 changed to interview completed.. Then card in production.. Then case approved  Mewo!

In all, the Interview was great ! If your marriage is real you have no problem.

Be out spoken and be honest !  Thank you all ! I will not disappear from this forum.  I will post and answer questions in order to help others .  Oh she didn't ask for my new medical..  I asked her if she wanted it .. she said my current one is good . I was like dam. Money wasted lmao. Lol. .

Lol. .

we had some discrepancies in our answers we weren't approved but they didn't denied us so I guess we have to wait more.
