My friend is engaged to a guy who has been here since 2012 and has been working under the table. I know all about AOS, as my husband and I have been through the process and he is now a citizen. However, I don't have experience on how to handle this. What needs to be done in this situation?

Over or under the table has nothing to do with immigration. As long as your friend can petition for him. They won't ask how he was feeding himself. They will ask him how he entered here and his status will be adjust by God grace.

I don't think OP is trying to report her friend.

More like trying to help her friend in filing AOS for guy who works illegally (illegal work is forgiven for spouse of USC, hopefully he did file taxes all these years).

How do you want him to list all his previous employment history on G-325a if he doesn't have a social security number.

Working under the table is illegal.

It is advised to try to file back taxes, as shown of good faith or good moral character.

Also make sure he did not pass himself off as USC to get employed.

Finally you want a solution for your friend or you want to know why they employed the guy.

You just have to be happy for your friend because she found a soulmate. Who care how he pay his rent. Do you know how many people lived the same way and today hopefully have the good status?
