Hi,

I'm amongst the lucky selectees for the DV2017. However, after reading comments online, I'm having serious doubts about my "qualifications"... I haven't taken my high-school diploma at 18 like most teens usually do... But I passed an equivalency a few years later, which in France is considered to be the absolute equivalency to a high-school diploma and grants you access to any University you wish to enroll in.

I now have a Bachelor in English as well as a Master1 in Translation (but not completed so I guess this doesn't count)

Does anyone here know whether I still have my chances...?

Thanks for your input! :)

You don't have to complete you high-school diploma at 18, you have to have completed at a minimum your high-school diploma or the equivalent before you apply for DV lottery. You are fine.

You'll be fine since the language has changed to "at least" high school. Not all high school equivalency certificates are accepted - but as you have a bachelors degree you should be fine. (You are correct that an uncompleted degree does not count but as you have completed undergrad that's not an issue here.)

Thank you, Arken, but what I meant was that I don't have the actual high-school diploma, but an equivalency... and then university degrees (which amount to a US Bachelor), but I read those were (oddly) irrelevant

Another question still pertaining to my education... I took my HS equivalency at the University so should I still take my high-school years into account, knowing that I did not graduate then? Not sure how important this is...

The question is: Have you ever attended any education institutions at a secondary level or above?

And then, I have to provide information on all educational institutions at a secondary level or above I have attended...

Thank you :)

You should list all secondary and tertiary institutions you attended, even if you did not graduate. If I remember correctly there is a line to fill in for what diploma/qualification you received, so in your case you would fill in the high school but leave the diploma box empty.
