My wife has heen asked to wait to be called before her next interview after last week interview. This is the second time of filling for her. I want to know if she can opt for twi on her next visit when she's called since she'll feel comfortable speaking twi.

Hi Frims. No, I don't think they will allow it. She will have to speak English at the interview.

They do have translators at the embassy, but it will bring up the question of how she talks with you if she is not comfortable in English, and having a second interview means there is already something they consider suspicious.

I agree with Penguin_ie. You don't want to give them a reason for a denial, unless you also can speak twi.

When I was coming to America some years ago, I remember the booth next to me, the lady was speaking Twi at her interview. She was a bit older like in her 50s or 60s. But like the rest said, don't give them a reason for denial especially if you didn't request it in the first interview

^^ That's not true. Most of the COs understand and can speak some basic level of several of the local languages.Years ago, they used to have a chalk board behind the counter where they have some local phrases..lol..

And they do have interpreters there too.

I heard spouses are no longer allowed in the embassy but some people were bringing their spouse's passport in to show they were there and waiting for them outside. All the best to you two!

She should not try it at all since she has already spoken English over there, a person did the same and they did not interviewed him and ask Him to leave because she has already spoken English there before
