A work permit is called an EAD. You can apply for an EAD as soon as you enter BUT it will only be good until the 90 days from your arrival and since it takes 60-90 days to get the card it is pointless

That dose not apply to k1 visas but to spousal visas your interview will be booked via your embassy not NVC.

I know its too soon to even ask this question. however when my fiance comes from overseas, would he be able to work? If so when? Does he have to apply for a work permit ? or he needs to wait until we are married and gets his social security number?

When do you project we will hear anything from noa2?

Well, been realistic by the end of July. However, I would love it if we do start looking at approvals mid-July. IDK what are you projecting?

Well I am seeing a lot of progress with the previous months. I would say early August but knowing my luck it will take until december :(:((:(:(:

But hopefully we will hear something by next month!!

Hi everyone! I know this thread is for May 2016 filers, however one of the thread caught my attention and it says that they only process in California. My fiance filed our petition last Monday 5 June 2016 and he received an email stating that it has been delivered to Dallas, TX. Should we take necessary steps to have it transferred to California? And what steps should be taken? Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hey,

You dont need to take any necessary steps Its been delivered to Dallas' lockbox and from there it will be assigned to a service center and most probably is California:) after the service center receives it you will get a receipt notification in the mail within 1 to 3 weeks with your case number:)

not a may filer but from what ive seen trend wise may filers should see noa2 by august or end of july with the way the pace is going up so maybe end of july/early august

I just didn't want to get confused, after Noa1 the next time we get a letter or any sort of communication is NOA 2 right? and the case number from hard copy NOA 1 is what I would use to track the progress of I29F?
