I leave for Finland on Sunday night so I don't think I'll be checking VJ too often while I'm away, but I'll still check it every now and then. I hope I'll get to see more cases having some progress made with them! Good luck everyone :)

Congrats guys! Another question here, when filling out the I 134, and it's a Co sponsor, will they be filling it out for my fiance the petitioner or for me the beneficiary? Thanks guys❤

Hi everyone,

My NAO1 date is April 27th and we still haven't heard anything. My fiancé is in the Air Force so we're used to spending time apart but this time it's harder and we now have a baby together. He's 3 months old and hasn't seen his daddy since he was 2 weeks old! I'm praying so hard we hear something soon!!

Our son needs some treatment soon on a shallow leg joint. I doubt that's enough reason to get us expedited but I'd really like to know whether we should begin treatment here in the U.K. Or wait until we get to the states. So frustrating! Congrats to everyone who has got their NAO2 and interview dates. Your excitement is infectious!

Does your son have a DoD benefits? Meaning that your fiancée has registered him with TriCare? If so, he will have military benefits. If your son isn't registered with TriCare then get your fiancée to do so ASAP this way you can begin treatment now and won't have to wait. Are you close to Lakenheath AFB? If you are, you can easily go for treatment there. If not, you should be able to get a referral and seek treatment off base.

I'm not sure about the expedited petition. I've heard that some people have submitted a letter signed by the Active Duty's Commanding Officer. There is a military helpline for USCIS. The number is: 1-877-CIS-4MIL (1-877-247-4645). They can better answer that question. Hope that helps.

I was under the impression that active duty military were automatically expedited, it is worth pursuing

Unfortunately not. I'm active duty and am still waiting. USCIS requires a reason to expedite your application. I called them and they told me that my petition would be processed according to the normal timeline unless I had a compelling reason. The most common reason for expediting the petition is deployment.

I recently spoke with a guy and his entire K-1 Visa (start to finish) was approved in two months. He was deploying though.

Thanks for the replies! My fiancé called the military line but they basically told us there's nothing they can do until September 27th. Unfortunately, being military and/or having a child don't seem to help the process at all.

We are 40 minutes from Lakenheath (it's where I met my fiancé) so I will get him to register our son with tricare and will take him there. Thank you for the tip!

Also, he just completed a deployment and we got engaged when he came back! How frustrating!

I wish you luck and I am disappointed you are not expedited, the military has earned this. Perhaps your sons medical condition could entice the uscis to expedite your petition, I would consider that a reasonable request on your part. I will pray you can be processed quickly.
