Bringing British husband to USA processing times

Hi all,

My wife has petitioned for me and i have a priority date from 16SEP2015 received from the NVC.

Last week she had her citizenship interview which she passed as she has been a permanent resident for many years. We have been married 3 years now but of course I want to be with her over there. What is the next step now? She will have her ceremony in a few weeks, but will this speed up the process now that she becomes a citizen? If so, what do I need to do?

Also I have been offered a job over there who are willing to sponsor me, but are not sure how long that would take, and if I would be better off just waiting for my wifes citizenship and for my greencard that way.... Job are willing to wait but not forever.

Any help to my questions would be very much appreciated as its very stressful at the moment, and are unsure whether to get expensive lawyers involved.

Once she actually becomes a US citizen (at her oath ceremony) she can upgrade her petition to an immediate relative petition with USCIS.

Immigrating through your wife will be faster than with potential employers with whom you have not yet even begun the process.

What sort of visa would they be using if you went the work route?

Thats the thing its for a general manager of a restaurant so not sure....? any ideas?

I very much doubt you'd be able to get an employment-based visa for a restaurant manager; certainly not an H-1B in any case.

There was someone else in the UK married to an LPR who had also been offered a job in a restaurant. Might want to contact him and see how it all worked out
