Is it normal to not have heard anything yet?

Hello, I entered the US on K-1 the end of March, got married two days later, and filed for AOS April 14th, they received it according to Fedex April 14th. It is the end of April now and I have not received a text nor email (I sent the e-notification form with it) nor have they taken the money from the check.

I haven't freaked out until today, and if people tell me it's normal and not to worry I will believe you, I just need to know when you usually hear back when filing the I-485 AOS.

Looking back at our time line it took about 11 days for the NOA to arrive so I wouldn't freak out just yet. Have you looked at current processing times? Failing that, you can try calling USCIS customer services - they are typically pretty friendly and can look into cases for you

If you dont hear anything in another week or two, you can also file an infopass and speak to someone in person at your local USCIS office (again I dont think you need to do anything like that yet).

Hi, thank you for your reply! Yes, the NOA took a while, but we got the text and email stating they received it in about 2-3 days from them getting it and they took the money right away, that's why I'm wondering if with the AOS is different or the same I just want to know they got the packet at least.

USCIS can take up to 30 days to issue the NOA1 receipt or send your package back to you (if they reject the application), so you are still within their published normal processing times. If that time is up, you can then call their customer service, since if you call them now, you'll only get the "it can take up to 30 days" standard answer.

If Fedex says they have the package, they have it, don't worry! You'll hear something back soon.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I know the NOA1 takes many days but I signed up for the text/email notification which gets issued in days usually, that's why I'm a bit concerned....

The e-notification form is known as being unreliable, there is history of many people not getting the e-mail and text. Don't worry!

Hi where from ny.. We submitted our aos last year i think may or june of 2015 and we already did the biometrics last jan.. Now we dont hear anything from uscis

Do you have any idea whats going on??

And we also have a lawyer doing all those paper works but still nothing happening now? Im really upset
