Hi to all here,

I have a sister from the Philippines and have a Boyfriend would like to visit her in the Philippines . I am curious if both of them can file at the Manila Embassy for there K1 visa as this consider there first time to meet in person? Her Boyfriend is planning to stay until her visa file and approved so that they can fly same time here in the US. Any futher info is very helpful for my sister and her Boyfriend.

Thanks :dancing::dancing::dancing:

I'm saying if he has a visa to stay in PI for that long.

There are no other place to send it then Lockbox in Texas. They will send it to the processing service center (california)

They can't send it to the embassy in Manila. It's not a spouse visa.

Well if they don't get any RFE or other delays then probably 5-6 months right now would be my guess.

2-3 months to get NOA2

3-5 weeks to get case number

Then there are medical and all the other stuff they have to do down there and then the medical.

The can mail the petition to the lockbox in Texas while he is there. He cannot file at the embassy. Timing has been pretty quick with K-1's lately, I think about 3 or 4 months until a Manila number. Then there's medical, interview, and CFO. One problem with staying there for him, how is he going to show the income to support her in the USA?

No DCF for K-1, only for the IR/CR-1 visa. Must be married and in country 6 months to do the DCF route.
