Just figured I would give my experience with the AOS for my wife after we got married. I have seen many people worried here about getting married on the Visa Waiver, so I figured I'd share our experience. It has been VERY easy. We hired a lawyer and they said they do it routinely and as long as it is a real marriage no one really cares. I am so glad that I had someone to tell me it was possible and that I didn't have to stay away from my wife while waiting for the USCIS. Just something to consider if you guys don't want to wait longer while apart.

After living in Chile my wife and I stayed long distance for a certain amount of time. From there she visited once for 3 months, went back to Chile and then came back 3 months later. During that time we decided to get married. This was late October.

Paperwork submitted beginning of November.

Biometrics date was second week of December.

Advanced Parole and Work Permit came in mid-February.

Interview was scheduled for early April.

Interview lasted a full 20 minutes, interviewer was very nice and told us we were approved on the spot.

People should worry about it if they enter on vwp with the intention of getting married and adjust status. I assume you guys decided in the spur of the moment that you wanted to get married then it's just fine!
