How Many Visits?

Hello All,

I'm new to the site and am so impressed by the support and info! I am petitioning for my Nigerian fiance to come by K-1 and wanted to know from others who have gone through the process, how many times you've visited your fiance before the interview and does it weigh heavily? I have only visited one time for one week and am worried if it's enough. The trip can be costly plus the time off from work. Please share your experiences. Thank you!

All you need his one time in the past two years. I visited my wife once before petition for her k1 visa and she is now a lawful permanent resident. just make sure you keep records of your emails, text messages, international phone call such as centmobile and also any social media chatting. You should be fine with this trust me.

Lagos likes to see lots of face time. Though some are approved with a one time visit, others are not.

I suggest another trip and being on the premises for the interview.

Hopefully you front loaded your petition which is important for this embassy.

I had only one visit, before petitioning. Although, I stayed almost 4 weeks. Also at interview, my husband explained that I was in the process of returning when he got approved for his interview, so we saved money by instead of paying for me to visit, we would save for him to come hone

Thanks so much for the replies everyone. I have plenty of phone records and chatting so hopefully that will suffice. I sent my petition in before finding the site and I was very thorough but not sure if I sent enough in evidence which were mainly pics.

my first trip was about 2 weeks doing another later in the year with another 2 weeks , like someone said eariler high fraud countries its better to be safe then sry later , esp with one trip only being a week only

Like Ebunoluwa stated Nigeria is tough. You should plan on being there for the interview. Especially with only one week visit.

My Nigerian Houston based attorney suggested that I be present for the interview. I personally decided to come for a 2nd trip in which I decided before leaving to stay in Nigeria till the interview date. I have been here for 4 months. We are setting up our interview Monday once we pay for the GT Bank Fees. My decision was also based on marrying a widower and desiring to bond my soon to be beautiful 3 year old daughter!

Thanks for the input...I don't know how I will afford the flight right now but I am looking for ways. I haven't gotten the NOA2 yet so I should have time to visit before the interview again.
