Another question...

Reading all of your responses have been SUPER helpful, thank you all so much!

One more question for you guys: right now I've been accumulating all of our documents in a large brown envelope, but how are we to present our package when it is officially sent in?

Are we to just slip all the documents in an envelope to mail in? The cover sheet we will be putting in will no doubt list what we are submitting in a particular order. Do we punch and bind them so they stay all together in a neat booklet? (I highly doubt that one)

Do I purchase one of those folders that simply clip the stack of paper together and keep them safely enclosed?

I am afraid of submitting a package where things are just loose and can get lost. I don't know if there's a standard for this that I've missed but better safe than sorry! What do I do?

Any packaging, folders, or binders will be tossed in the garbage. So don't bother or waste money. I just stacked all the papers and documents up and put them in the brown envelope for mailing. I did paper clip some items in groups that went together. Like the check with the actual I-129f form, the passport photo baggies with the G-325a, all my passport pages, all the travel documents for proof of meeting in person, the 5 pics I sent, etc.

Loose is what they need because they will assemble and put it together for their filing system.

Stack all your paperwork in appropriate order. If you want some items to be grouped together then paperclip them. We then ACCO clipped the entire thing, to keep it all tidy. Then it all goes into the mailing envelope. Seems old fashioned and rather simple doesn't it? The truth is they don't want binders and other stuff that takes more effort to sort through.

Use paper clips, binder clips and/or rubber bands.
