N-400 April 2016 Filers

I finally had my interview today (Atlanta field office-IOE#) . Before the interview began I was told that they weren't approving IOE cases yet because they just went live/started using it just last week and found out that some of the background checks were not performed accurately due to a glitch in the new ELIS system and hence would need to be re-done. Needless to say I was annoyed.

Anyway, we went ahead with the interview, I was sworn in, handed him my GC and drivers license, Verified my information, had the English test, answered questions etc. Mid way through my interview, his supervisor worked in with one of the big directors (from out of town) and asked if it was ok if the director sat in on the interview to observe how the new ELIS system efficiency.

After the interview, which was a breeze....I complained to the director about my frustration with new system and how it took us (IOE filers) way longer than it took the NBC guys for using the right form, He apologized and explained some of the issues they are having with the new system and asked they guy who interviewed me to check his email as they forwarded the list of cases needing a new background check about an hour ago to see if my case was on there. fortunately it wasn't. He told me I would definitely here something in the next few days. It was an interesting experience with the director sitting in on the interview but I think it was a blessing in disguise.

did not get my oath letter as I hoped for but I am hopeful I will be done sooner than later!

Hi guys, finally I'm a Usa ?? citizen. Attendee oath ceremony yesterday there were 609 applicants from 85 countries district judge administered the oath. What a graceful everyone was so excited to be citizen of this great country.

This forum has been a great help I would like to thank each of you for your feedback and support.

And for this who are stilll waiting hangin it's gonna be over soon

First i received a phone call on Monday from USCIS and they said its de-scheduled because of their computer system for new application is not allowing them to finalize the oath and there's nothing wrong with my case, they will send me a de-schedule notice in mail and hopefully they will send me a new oath schedule for December. Later i received an email for De-scheduling my oath and it also mentions there is nothing wrong with my case and there is system error on their side. On Tuesday i logged in on ELIS account and i saw the de-schedule notice was uploaded. So ya I didnt attend my ceremony yesterday.

Yeah Houston filers were scheduled for an oath ceremony on 11/16 and then it was canceled, we all got phone calls saying their new ELIS computer systems were not working, something a long those lines, and so they canceled our oath ceremony and we'll be receiving a letter in the mail with the new oath ceremony date. Bummer, we're so close and then they cancel on us, grrr.

I wonder if its related to the Judge that was going to be there also? and not just the ELIS system?

Since houston only has one ceremony a month, they will likely re-reschedule it soon or hold it in december on its own special date separate from the actual december date...

Today I had my interview. The interviewing officer was a very nice and kind lady. The whole process took around 20 min

and went smooth as a breeze. Then she gave me the letter of approval and said the oath should be expected in 4-6 weeks.
