April 2016 AOS Filers

After 100days and EAD/AP received I can finally see my I-485 online and it says: On April 15, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status.

I'm wondering from people who already received green card or interview how long after this notes will we get something? I know everything depends from case to case but I'm just curious how that works for other people

Your not alone there is a few people on this thread who are stuck on "fingerprint fee receieved" I'm 1 of those people... On the brighter side those so far who got there interview waived there status went from "fingerprint fee recieved" to "approved" so I keep telling myself it's a good thing that in stuck on that status

if your concerned calla tier 2 and get more information... just cause your status isnt updating it doesnt mean your case isnt moving... When i talk to a tier 2 he told me I'm still within normal processing time and that my case is currently being processed... not much help i know BUT i asked him is my case being processed at NBC or did it get transferred to another location and i found out my case has indeed been transferred to a local office!! not my local office but a local office in a different state which its still being processed but atleast there is indeed movement with my case even tho my "fingerprint fee recieved" status doesnt reflect the movement

I received my combo card yesterday and went to the SSA office in DC today. I had no problem at all and they told me I should have my SSN within two weeks.

So DC people do not wait and try it as soon as possible I was there one minute before opening and was done one hour later, everybody was nice and helpful!

They found your name in the DHS database? We went in a day after as well and they couldn't find my wife's info for some reason

I applied for my SSN the day i received my EAD and everything was processed fine... got my SSN 5 days later in the mail BUT when i went to dmv the following week they had problems verifying my EAD

Yes, they did not have any issues finding my name... DMV will be different story

Yeah we're currently battling with incompetent SSA clerks.

Yesterday called an SSA office in Bakersfield, CA, to ask for an update (we live in the bay area, but it doesn't matter since SSA is federal, and this one has virtually no waiting time!). Anyway, the man (who was clearly 40+ years old) told us that the SSN has cleared completely, and that we should expect the SSN early next week. That same day, we later called the *local* SSA office where we went to 5 days ago, and the guy there (he sounded very young) told us that DHS verification is still needed, and that it'll take 3-4 weeks... wth?

So we called the other man in Bakersfield once again to ensure that he was actually looking at my wife's status and not someone elses, he said "I'm seeing it right here on the screen...first middle and last name, birthdate, and everything else matches exactly. I can see that DHS approval was requested and it was approved. You're cleared and should expect the SSN very soon".

I'm tempted to trust the older guy in Bakersfield... he clearly sounded more experienced than the younger guy in our local SSA office... but i'm still wondering what the heck went on. We gave them both the same information and heard opposite things.

Jeez, finally!

Ok, so we were in the boat where the case status tracker wasn't recognizing our numbers. Annoying but common. My husband talked to Tier 2 two weeks ago and didn't really understand what they told him-- he thought that it (EAD) was "ready", whatever that means. I told him to ask the person for a case inquiry because we were past 75 days but either he forgot or the person wouldn't because it eventually became clear that they didn't. I had him call again yesterday, and they said basically "yes, you're past 90 days but that happens sometimes. You should get something, maybe not the card, but an explanation or a request for more papers, in the next two weeks". He also said that they said they'd put us in the system so we could track our case. I was livid at this answer.

So this morning, I checked the numbers and they're all there (!) and the EAD was still "case was received". So I immediately opened a case inquiry through the online system, and 3 hours later EAD changed to "New Card Is Being Produced". Today is Day 105.

USCIS just updated! My (EAD/AP) card was mailed to me!

Thinking it'll be here next Monday. No tracking number
