Hi,

My fiancee and I have filed for K1 last month. when filing I wrote my Passport Birthday. and I found out that my Birth certificate has a different date.

in My BC it says DOB 20-Aug-1986

and in my Passport is 01-Sep-1986

name and place of birth are correct.

and i have already visited the US few times.

Would it cause problems during my interview ?

Regards,

T

Everything you own should have the DOB from your birth certificate, assuming your birth certificate is correct.

okay! well now our case in USICIS and I mentioned my passport's Birth certificate ?

well here in Saudi they use islamic Calendar and that is what's causing this all mess.

Thanks

So your DOB changes from year to year? Or how does it work? I'm really curious how you could have a different DOB on your passport? I have just never experienced such a thing so learning more about it would help everyone on the forum.

Is it possible to get your passport or birth certificate fixed to the correct date? (whichever one was actually wrong?)

Exactly there is difference between Islamic and Gregorian Calendar each year there is some difference in days i cant recall how many. If i do the Online conversion from islamic calendar i get my passport DOB. And my parents say my DOB is correct in Birth certificate.

I am so screwed now.

No you're not screwed, but you need to fix it. Get your passport fixed ASAP. Then when you're at the interview you explain the difference and I'm sure, being where you're interviewing, they will understand.

Also when you finally fill out the DS-160, which is the visa application, use the correct birthdate.

That's why you need to fix your passport, do the DS-160 right, and explain at interview. It's likely something they've seen before.
