HI. I have a question. When the K-1, K-2 interview is over and the Officer deems it approvable, will he let the applicant(s) know right then and there? Or will they be notified later on that week?

Also, the I-134... it needs to be handed to the officer AT THE INTERVIEW, right?

Thanks for your help!!!!!

Hi. Quick question, just to see if I have this right.

The US Petitioner submits the I-864 when he/she finally petitions for his/her spouse in the I-485 process, correct? It doesn't need to be submitted at any point during the K-1 petitioning process, right?

Hi everyone. Hopefully the last question for today.

I'd like to know when a K-2 (child of a K-1 fiance) is also being petitioned by US petitioner, obviously the child will need a letter of permission signed by the other parent.

I understand that the letter should include a statement saying that he/she is in agreement to allow the child to immigrate and live in the USA with the parent who will soon marry the US Petitioner.

Ok, but they need to get this letter signed and authenticated by an attorney in their native country, right? How would this work in MExico? Any input from anyone? Thanks!!!!

The form I-134 affidavit of support is used to support a K1 petition. The I-864 is used when adjusting status after entering the US and marrying.

Read the K1 guide here on VJ to familiarize yourself with the process.

Sometimes....sometimes later.

Yes, if asked for it.

The US Petitioner submits the I-864 when he/she finally petitions for his/her spouse in the I-485 process, correct? It doesn't need to be submitted at any point during the K-1 petitioning process, right?

That's for AOS, which is after entry to the US and marriage. No, not part of K-1.

I'd like to know when a K-2 (child of a K-1 fiance) is also being petitioned by US petitioner, obviously the child will need a letter of permission signed by the other parent.
