Your title kinda threw me off for a bit..lmao..

Well, if your husband's name is not on the birth certificate then how do you claim to be a stepmom?

He need to resolve that first before you file anything for him..Unless you wan to legally adopt him..

Father's name needs to be on the birth certificate and I suspect a DNA test will be needed as a result of it being off for so long.

good luck

I just know he's my husbands child but he never got around to signing his birth certificate, and now his real mom is dead, so we don't know how to go about it. They told us to go through the courts to get it on there

Sounds logical.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

His dad will add his name , if dad is in JA he can go to RGD with moms death cert.

and take care of that, or if the child reside with someone else have them get the

papers so he can fill out and sign to get his name added....He will get DNA request

from US consular when it reaches the interview process...As someone suggested

get the kid his PP in the meantime , it can be obtained by his guardian without dads

name on birth-cert
