anyone experience this? Got citizen interview on 9/8/2016, and received web case status update 9/9/2016 " in line for interview". before the update, it was " interview was scheduled".


during the interview, the officer said my file is temporary. he needs to wait to get my permanent file. passed English test and waiting for decision... how comes I got the update that I am in line for interview again? is it possible a mistake update？

So glad to be finally a U.S. citizen. Still feels kind of unreal, but it's my legitimate nationality, now. :dance: It was a beautiful ceremony held at Castillo San Cristobal in Old San Juan, in a hot, sunny tropical afternoon; one of the guests who spoke at the ceremony even joked about how we just learned what it means to "sweat for the country" during his speech. :lol: We were 101 new citizens from 22 different countries, with me being the only representative for my country. We even made headlines! For those of you Spanish speakers who may be interested, here are the articles from the two principal local newspapers:

I didn't waste any time, though, and last Saturday I both registered to vote (got my voter's ID on the spot) and already surrendered my beautiful certificate in order to apply for a Passport. Looking forward to get it in the mail so that I can pay a visit to the local SSA office and update my status with them. Last but not least, I need to upgrade my driver's license to the Real ID format (here, they became available exactly one week after I renewed my old one :ranting: ), so that it finally states "Citizen". :)

Of all the appreciation for the help I have received from friends, family, loved ones during the different stages of my immigration journey, I can't leave out the fair share of credit that needs to go to the precious information found on this community and to the knowledgeable users that make it up. Thank you visajourney!

But I still can't say that I'm done with USCIS, though, because next step involves (most likely) filing I-130s for my parents, which makes me believe that I'll still be around for a while.

I wish the best of luck to all those who are still waiting (hope you will get through this very soon), and many congratulations to my new fellow citizens! :)

Had my oath ceremony at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn this morning. My husband had to watch on a TV monitor from a different room because they don't allow guests in the courtroom with you. But it was fine. I'm a citizen! Please update my timeline!! Thank you all and good luck with everything ?

2016-03-22 : Cheque processed. USCIS Acceptance Confirmation text and email received. Receipt # starts with NBC*

2016-03-26 : Received NOA in the mail. Notice Date: 03/22

2016-04-01 : Received Biometric Notification in the mail. Appointment Date: 04/14

2016-04-05 : Biometric walk in successful at Brooklyn ASC.

2016-04-07 : Received email notification - In line for interview.

2016-06-20 : Received text/email notification - Interview has been scheduled.

2016-06-25 : Interview letter received in the mail. Interview scheduled for 07/26

2016-07-26 : Interview at 12pm at Federal Plaza - Recommended for approval!

2016-08-01 : Text notification - In Line for Oath Ceremony.

2016-08-22 : Text notification - Oath Ceremony has been scheduled.

And we're done! Ale took the oath this morning in a fantastic ceremony with 70 other new US citizens from 41 countries. She was even asked to lead the Pledge of Allegiance, which was really quite special. I couldn't be prouder.

Had my Oath today, Beautiful Beautiful experience. Feels Great to be called a US Citizen. Thanks to this beautiful VJ family. Can't believe I am finally done with this.

All done. Well, the oath is in 4 hours and since the office is so close to my home, I came back home for now :). The interview was a breeze. I think I was out of there in 25 minutes!!

The interviewer (a nice and friendly lady) went over my application and asked the usual Yes/No questions. I had a couple of additions to my "Time outside the United States" which she gladly accepted. Then the Civic test. I got all 6 right. I think the questions were:

- Who becomes President if both President and VP can no longer serve ?

- How many years for a Senator term?

- How many Supreme Court Justices ?

- Name on branch of Government.

- What does Declaration of Independence mean ?

- What does the President's Cabinet do ?

Then she made me read and write a simple sentence. I sensed that she knew this was baby stuff for me so she was also breezing through. Then she gave me the Congrats , a letter of approval and the Oath ceremony certificate. We even chit chatted a bit at the end :). In 4 hours from now, I should be officially be a US citizen!!!

How did it go?

a decision cannot yet be made blah blah blah.. :( My brother got the same. We had same interviewer and he said he needs to review our applications on the computer because he didn't have chance to look at them...? Also if there's no problem with our applications, which we don't, we'll get the oath letter in the mail. hope we can get that oath letter sooooon! fingers crossed!!!!
