They have a little old man who sits behind a messy desk on floor 3 of a large municipal building (location is kept secret for obvious reasons) who spends his days etching the details for each applicant into small pieces of laminate.

That might be the reason it's so slow.... I think.

Heather&Kevin, I can't understand their processing "order" either. If this is of any help, my card came in a USPS Priority Mail envelope, shipped from Lee's Summit, MO. I am adjusting from B-2, not K-1. Also I didn't get any RFE's. I filed a I-130 together with the AOS, which both probably haven't been touched at all (the case tracker still shows case received and fee accepted, on March 4th). So maybe you will find it different about my process.

If you haven't received it yet, I really hope you get your combo card in the next few days.

Thanks very much for the info. To me that explains the difference. I think! Different pile. Different pace of processing. Maybes!

I got approval on April 26th. Status was updated online. Approval notices arrived promptly in the mail. Now just a daily stroll to the mailbox. And nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

Yes I think it's because it was Mother's Day here not long ago so those were rushed out in time for a nice present for all the mums out there! ??

Expect a rush of cards in June in time for Father's Day haha

Soooooooo frustrating. I tried to call 4 times yesterday and got shut down. First computers were down then needed husband on the line then computers again. Got a call back and surprise!!!! Disconnected. Then today got eight. Yes 8. Texts/emails that said basically nothing. Address changed. I didn't move. Card resent. What card? Address. Changed again. Twice. Plus case request approved. What is going on? Received ead and ap approval notices for 4/28. No card. Nothing. I swear USCIS will turn me into an alcoholic.

Glad someone is having a giggle on this Tuesday night! ?

I used up all my stress for the K1. I am now a giggling loon that just ambles back and forth to the mailbox all day long. Even though I know it's empty. Hmmm. What shall I do tomorrow? Ah yes... Have a little lie in. Spot of breakfast. Go for a run. Plot my route to being a billionaire. Dream a little dream. And rest. Oh. Better go check the mailbox.

Received ead and ap approval notices for 4/28. No card. Nothing.

If you get your card before mine I shall have the most enormous sulk. So just take it easy. I'll let you know when it's your turn.

Nothing to see here.

Move along please.

Morning everyone,

We got an electronic notification on 4/19 that an RFE (request for INITIAL evidence) was being mailed out to us - and we still have not received it (will be 30 days tomorrow).

I've called the USCIS # several times but have never figured out how to talk to a human being.

Can anyone please give me some tips on how to get on the line with an actual person. The prompts seem to just lead in a circle - SOOOO frustrating!

The good news is that we received the EAD card last week, which was completely unexpected. I had thought that a request for initial evidence put everything on hold. I guess not. No complaints though. :)

Thanks!

Kim (& Liam)

I think all us applicants can be spotted a mile off! Wandering back and forth from mailboxes.. With glum faces as we return empty handed... Talking to ourselves at how crappy USCIS are and too slow....

Your mailman not think you are a stalker yet?

My post box is not in the line of sight so I can't hunt my postie down haha.

Just sat twiddling my thumbs until the next notification comes along. Now if (big if) we had applied even 5 years should I think the time it took was dramatically shorter.

Either the volume has increased or the number of USCIS staff has fallen!
