Hi all, my best friend has invited me to vist her for 3 weeks, she will sponsor my vist. What support documents do I need to take with. I rent my home. Have been in the same job for 15 years, I don't earn a huge salary hence my friend sponsoring my vist. Any advise please and thank you

Your friend can't sponsor your B2 visitor visa. You'll have to show proof on your own.

Probably not, would also be helpful to know what country are you from

Why do you HAVE to return to your job, why do you HAVE to return to your rented property

You need to present evidence that you MUST return home

I am from South Africa, I have no intention of moving to the US, how are you supposed to prove you have to come back surely a job and family is reason enough. I really don't understand how else to prove that

As per my experience, I have tried to apply a tourist visa and 3 times I got denied. My 4th application was granted and I have got my 10 year multiple visa entry. I had to prove first that my ties are strong. My fault was.. I only focused why I have to go to the US but it was a big mistake. I have proven them why I have to comeback in my country where I live. I have submitted the following to the US Consul:

1. My Bank Statement that I can support myself for my US TOUR.

2. I PAID my own ticket ( not paying your own ticket means your finances is not stable so why to go to the US if you have lack of income) As people says here, having a SPONSOR is not a big factor to get a tourist visa as you are giving the US Consul a chance to deny your visit visa application

3. Letter from my employer that they have no objection if I travel to USA and indicating in the letter my leave dates FROM-TO.

4. I got promoted in my job in my 4th tourist visa application (another ties I showed to the CO)

5. I only intended to stay for 3 weeks. (Some got denied when they want to stay for 3-4 months)

6. The CO asked me if I have relative or family in Bahrain (this is another ties)

7. I have submitted them my apartment contract which is under my name

8. During this time also, I was currently studying for 6 months course (additional points that I will comeback in my country as I got the letter from school that I am their student and will finish my course for this period)

If you can prove that you have a strong ties in your country, you will get a visit visa. God Bless!

What you have to remember is that by law, they assume that EVERYONE wants to live in the US and it's up to you to convince them that you don't.

Documents can do very little, they can easily be forged. The decision is made based upon the information on the application and how the interviewing officer is convinced during your face to face interview.
