You're going to be okay! Take a deep-breath and relax.

You can handwrite the dates on the photos or type them on. It's fine. We did that. Lots of others did that too. Most of the time, people take photos not thinking about how good they'll be for evidence later on, right? You took the photo because you thought "hey, this is a pretty spot" or "you look cute in that shirt, say cheese."

DO NOT stress at this point about and RFE. Do what you can now - include the evidence people here have suggested: boarding passes, passport stamps, etc. Print out a selection of photos. Write the dates on them. Don't go overboard trying to rig something up - THAT just might end up looking suspicious.

Then send in your package, buy a nice bottle of wine, and sit back and relax . . . for the next 7-12 months.

You'll get there.

Hope u r just kidding right?

those 7-12 months were a joke,right?:)

Do both. Pictures and CD. I send them pictures with the date imprinted along with the memory card off my digital camera. Although they proberly won't look at it but it's solid proof nontheless.

Why would you ever submit evidence on magnetic media if it is not an acceptable form for providing such evidence?

YMMV

Unless you're filing via the Vermont Service Center, then no, I'm not joking about the 7-12 months. Processing times vary wildly based on a couple's circumstances and their service center. Vermonters are freakishly lucky. Everyone else is stuck in the slow lane.

The recent request for public comment over a proposed fee increase (leave that issue aside for now, not relevant to this discussion) reports 2.9 monts as the average processing time for I-129Fs across the country. And that's just the first half of the process. After that, the times vary a lot based on what country the non-citizen is from. But 7 months seems to be a good rule of thumb. And unfortunately, many couples have to wait longer. Check ou the timelines available on this site.

(and note USCIS reports processing times of about 6 months, rather than 2.9, this is to keep you from calling and freaking out on them - their reported times are the outside edges of what can happen.)

Seriously.... that's more than overboard... especially if they're just going to toss it. But, if you have money to burn, why not?

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I agree with TimsDaisy, take a breath, it's not going to happen overnight. You'll need to pace your anxiety or else you'll burn out way before the finish line.

The process is lengthy, you need to be prepared for that.

You will see some people having more difficulty than other based on various things. Your location of Forgiegn Embassy/Consulate makes a difference when it comes time for an interview, the USCIS service center matters during the initial I-9F process. Some people take longer in name/records check and some don't. If you look at the bottom of most peoples responses you will see that most have already received an NOA2. That means what they sent into the USCIS was acceptable. If there are further questions, you will know....sometimes more is not better. This is one of those times. Send in ample evidence, but nothing more than you are asked for.

I sent in 9 pictures. They were printed at a local shop (overseas) so they are basically the same anyone else would just print on their home computer. I handwrote the date and a small caption on the back of each of them. I put them into plastic sleeves so that the adjudicator could see the picture, flip the page and the hand written information would be visible on the other side.

Follow the advice of making sure your primary evidence is up to par, that means anything that shows you were in the same place at the same time. I didn't have anything that had both our names on it, so I just used things that showed I was in the country with him (I am the USC).

Things will be OK!

a good rule to follow is that if you have more than one person giving you the same advice on simple questions, it's most likely good advice.

Good Luck,

Sue

Sending them the memory card AND the digital camera would be overboard. I almost went that route to show it wasn't tampered in anyway. That's before I found this site.

I'd say just the pictures are fine.

I sent two digital pics and I didn't even date them and no RFE. They are more interested in primary evidence such as passport stamps and ticket stubs. If you want to be really paranoid about it, take a pic holding a newspaper with the date clearly visible. No one will argue with that I think. No CD's or USB's, they just want paper.

We are the poster children for chain migration!
