well I don't know if I was different to everyone else for some reason...but my visa issue date was 22 Sept, and my expiration was 11 Nov 2015. As someone said, maybe that was my medical 6 months?! Either way, still better check

Yes, people incorrectly state the K-1 is valid for 6 months after issuance all the time on this site (or they just say it's valid for 6 months but don't specify from when, leaving people to assume it's from the date of issuance).

The K-1 visa is valid for 6 months from the DATE OF THE MEDICAL EXAM. Now usually that doesn't make for too big of a difference, but it has in some cases.

Another important factor for the OP to keep in mind is that the Medical is only valid for one year, so if you delay AOS too long, you may be required to pay for another medical exam.

That would seem to make sense but, my wife's medical was on 8/14/12. She had her interview on 8/28/12. The visa was issued and delivered to our house on 8/30/12. It clearly says on the visa itself that the Issue Date was 30AUG2012 and Expiration Date 27FEB2013 which would lead me to conclude that it was valid for six months.

OP - too many people make the mistake of thinking that the finance visa is a simple thing and that the wedding is the most important. When you immigrate someone here, that is the most important thing. Focus on the dates, follow the rules, and do what they say. Family members will be sad they missed the wedding, but there really is no other way. The government can't accommodate everybody's personal plans, so we have to accommodate their rules instead. Have her come, get married, have a great reception in July (and get remarried) for show.
