17 more approvals left for our small group here for the CSC.......None so far for our VSC family. Hope attention start pouring down on our side soon...

Congrats to our CSC approvals. :dancing:

BTW, when do you the CSC approvals plan on applying for the citizenship? This way we can have an idea so we can move together again with that journey when that time arrives.

thanks

I just had a call back from uscis tier 2 agent and he said he cannot do a service request for me because it is still processing and it is only considered outside processing time after 11 months!!! I dont think that is right at all, I insisted but didnt work. I think i am either receiving a RFE soon or my case will be approved next week. Frustrating! I filed on Feb 29, NOA march, 2nd and biometrics march 30th. Can someone add me? Thanks

Hi PRYSC,

What service centre did you file at? California (CSC) or Vermont (VSC)?

Hi Kalusha,

I can't speak for anyone else but I won't be filing for citizenship.

I suspect that is a very personal decision for most folks - I know it's cause for conversation when it comes up with some of my friends here in the US.

Admittedly there are not many cultural difference between the US and Canada, where I'm from so my situation is different from many but maintaining my Canadian citizenship is important to me. My parents both immigrated to Canada from Europe and being born Canadian is a point of pride for me - regardless of where I call home. I'm fortunate that my American friends and family respect my decision. I am grateful to be welcomed into the US and carry a tremendous amount of patriotism for my new home - but I am Canadian.

Hi USMAN104,

I think you have found yourself in the wrong group. This group filed for ROC in February of 2016 - you need this thread for September 2016 filers.

Good luck!

We would not have any idea about timing for you. I can only offer that the Vermont Service Centre is generally behind the California Service Centre in terms of processing times.

If you enabled e-notifications (email or text updates) and there is a problem you should hear soon otherwise it's likely still going through the processing channel and it will be cashed in short order.

Remember last week there was a holiday day so it's possible they are still catching up from a higher volume of applications to check.

For me it might prob. be in Jan/Feb of next year. Said probably as we have a lot going on at the moment.

I can't speak for anyone else but I won't be filing for citizenship.

I suspect that is a very personal decision for most folks - I know it's cause for conversation when it comes up with some of my friends here in the US.

+1 on that. May be a separate thread/poll for that. Just out of curiosity I thought Canada allows dual citizenship

Unless I am ignorant to the fact I see the advantage for that being granted certain gov. jobs that require security clearance that can only be obtained via US citizenship.

Plus this may will not apply to you but having a passport from India required me to go through the hassle of get visa to EU, etc

I thought Canada allows dual citizenship

Canada recognizes dual citizenship - the US does not. I would need to give up my British and Canadian passports to accept US citizenship and I am unwilling to do that (amongst other reasons).

I will always be welcome to 'go home' to Canada by virtue of my birth, regardless of what passport I have but for me my Canadian passport is more than just 50 very expensive blue pages lol

That's not at all accurate. The US allows dual citizenship (or multiple).

That is correct. I have many friends that got their citizenship this year and none of them had to give up their citizenship or passport of another country just because they were becoming a US citizens.
