Confusion about Tax's 3 Years

Hi All ,

In beginning of 2017 i am applying for Citizenship on base marriage. I have confusion about Taxes together for the past 3 years . I came here in the beginning of 2014 & we filed Taxes together in 2014 , 2015 . But when i will file N-400 in the start of 2017 i would only have past 2 years Taxes which we filed together because before that i was not in the States & my wife was filing by her self . Please advise ..

Before you file for citizenship in early 2017, you two can first file 2016 tax return in Jan 2017 so that you will have 3 year tax documents.

you're ok, as long as you have been filing for taxes, that's the important thing

you won't have 3 years of taxes because you weren't here in 2013, as long as you have been married for 3 years, and at least you have sent the form 90 days prior to your 3 year of residency

if you dont have it, u dont have it.

but, you dont have to send your application 90 days before. you can always just file taxes, use the return to file your application. its not necessary but vanilla applications are easier to process.
