Excluding the date of delivery, it took a total of 3 days. Mine arrived Friday, I had my notice by text on Wednesday afternoon. I never got an email, though I did put my email address down.

Thanks! I've heard a few people never received emails despite proving email addresses. So we should hear something by Thursday.

Still waiting for NOA1. I'm dreading that we get Potomac. Just been reading the thread about the Potomac filers who are into 8 months and counting waiting for NOA2.

Timeline

Still waiting for NOA1. I'm dreading that we get Potomac. Just been reading the thread about the Potomac filers who are into 8 months and counting waiting for NOA2.

Potomac isn't taking 8 months to process cases. Many older cases were transferred to Potomac because they were languishing at other service centers (hence why you see people's cases have taken 8 months, but they didn't spend 8 months at Potomac) and only recently USCIS has begun assigning cases directly to Potomac upon NOA1. So far, the vast majority of the cases Potomac is working on are super old ones the other service centers didn't get to.

My Convoluted Story (see my profile for more details)

Mar 2010 - Visited Morocco for the first time, got engaged
Dec 30, 2011 - Wedding in Morocco (5th visit)

31 Aug 2012 - Priority Date (Vermont, transferred to NBC)
31 Dec 2012 - NOA2
27Jul 2013 - Broke up/Separation (while waiting for case complete at NVC)
9 Jan 2014 - Filed for divorce in US (never completed)
4 Apr 2014 - USCIS NOIR
May 2015 - Reconciliation
Nov 2015 - Vacation together in Spain (7th in-person visit with each other)
I-130/IR-1 (second time around)
4 Feb 2016 - Priority Date
19 Apr 2016 - NOA2

17 May 2016 - NVC Case Number Assigned

31 May 2016 - Sent AOS/IV package to NVC

5 Jul 2016 - NVC Case Complete

10 Aug 2016 - Medical Exam

25 Aug 2016 - Interview - APPROVED

If you can track if the check is being cashed, try that. I knew to expect a NOA1 after seeing my checking being on hold in my account. After reading a few things on here, I'm glad I did it with a check also. If the mail got lost-there goes my cashiers check. Or at least the hassle of it.

Well, since I am filling from Abroad I do not have a check and there is no way to get one here in Bosnia. I had our packet sent to a friend in the States and he bought a money order and put it in our packet and mailed it. it arrived on Monday.

No, I know that. What I mean is they have (unfortunately) been given the backlog from Texas plus their own new cases. There are people there with NOA1 dates from July. So if ours has been sent there, we are behind all those July, August, September, October, November, December and January people. How long will it take them to clear the backlog? Until they clear it, the new cases aren't even being touched. I just see a disaster in the making there. And it's unfortunate for the July people who were sent there that they are still waiting whereas July cases that weren't transferred there have now been approved. All they have done is move the backlog from one place to another.

Ours arrived on Monday with a money order in it too.

I'm going to check on Friday to see if the money order has been cashed. I have made a copy of the UPS delivery confirmation page which also has the signature on it of the person who took delivery of it.

We got ours from US Bank. So I'm going to call their customer service line. I'm pretty sure they must have a way of finding out if it has been cashed. It has a serial number on it.

Filed the i-130 in Bangkok and paid at the embassy in Bangkok. Told I should expect the NOA2 in under 2 months, but have seen some getting it in 3 weeks. Fingers crossed. Good luck to us all.

Great news! Another step closer. But another one who didn't get an email. Still no email here. I'm so impatient I called USCIS and theth said to wait 30 days. I said "30 days? All I want to know is that it is being processed somewhere. I just want the receipt notification." I mean, we are paying a $420 filing fee. If I was charging a customer that to do some paperwork they would get an acknowledgement from me quicker than that. In fact, if I don't acknowledge communication from customers within 48 hours I could lose my job.

On hold to US Bank to see if the money order has been cashed.
